Description

Purdy Contracts Limited, part of Kinovo Plc, have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, covering a repair and maintenance contract, based from our Hackney office, E5.

You will provide commercial insight into the performance of contracts and assist with ensuring that profit is maximised, and efficiencies are targeted across the business.

Duties include:

  • Developing and implementing best practice, ensuring the Company complies with contractual legislation & requirements, using approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to commercial reporting.
  • To work proactively with senior stake holders to establish and maintain robust reporting systems.
  • Managing all aspects of the project including repairs, refurbishment, and adaptations including preconstruction survey, procurement, and management.
  • Producing monthly valuations and applications, for direct submittal to the client.
  • Managing monthly commercial reporting and responsible for the day-to-day administration of the commercial and construction function of the Project(s).
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with and effectively interfaced at peer level with company clients to agree valuations and variations.
  • Interface with and form productive effective relationships with the site team(s) and the client team.

You will:

  • Have social housing, local authority or contractor experience managing small to large scale projects including the use of schedule of rates
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of contract & SOR Coding.
  • Experience of frameworks and social housing projects, with particular emphasis on pricing/costing/estimating and budget management.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the project(s) contractual and commercial requirements and understanding around the valuations cycle and associated deadlines, prioritising and managing both their own and the team's time accordingly.
  • Be self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook, clear focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Have exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Provide inspirational leadership of the Commercial team supporting, mentoring, and coaching Graduates, Trainees and QS's, proactively assisting with their role specific training and development.
